Discovery receivers couple the output of the diodes directly
into the amplifier, achieving wide bandwidth and efficiency in a small hermetically
sealed package. Six models provide flexibility for matching the needs of short,
medium and long reach systems at 10, 12.5, 20 and 40 Gb/sec data rates. All offer
a choice of optical fiber pigtail and input connectors, type K and V coaxial RF
connectors and convenient bias supply connections. The following lists provide a
brief description of each model.
For busy test stations or student labs, where users of different
experience levels might be handling high value opto-electronics that are easily
